Volunteer
There are many ways of helping Lifeline. Volunteers can make a real difference in the community - in both counselling and non-counselling roles.
... a little of your time can make a big difference ...
Telephone Crisis Support Volunteers
Lifeline Harbour-to-Hawkesbury has around 160 active volunteer telephone crisis supporters who answer the 13 11 14 Crisis Support line, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Our Centre answers more than 21,500 calls each year and with your help we could answer even more.

Once on the phones, volunteers support callers with a wide variety of issues, including loneliness, relationships, domestic violence, abuse, gambling, drugs and alcohol mental health and suicide.
Volunteer Face-to-Face Counsellors
Lifeline face-to-face personal counsellors are also volunteers, who have been trained externally and accredited with CAPA, AASW or APS. The team works with an eclectic approach to counselling underpinned with a Rogerian philosophy. To find out about volunteering, email or phone Gabrielle (the face-to-face service co-ordinator) on 9498 8805.
Some companies provide their staff for a day of community service each year. These teams are set to work on various projects such as bookfair help or painting our recycling bins.
'Op' Shop Volunteers
Our shops in Asquith and Epping raise vital funds in support of our services.
If you have some time to spare, we are currently looking for shop volunteers- call the Shop Manager (Asquith) on 9476 5876 or Stephanie (Epping) on 9869 7868 for information.
Bookfair Volunteers
We have several bookfairs which are Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury's major fundraising events each year. More than 100,000 donated books are individually priced and sorted into more than 50 categories. New volunteers are welcome to help sort books in the months prior to the bookfairs & to help during the bookfairs during the year.
If you have an interest in books and a few hours to spare occasionally or regularly, enquire about joining our friendly bookfair team.
Other Volunteers
There are many other areas to help in. These include:
... and much more. Mostly people volunteer a few hours each week or fortnight.
