Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury

Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury is located on the North Shore of Sydney. We began as a Lifeline centre providing the telephone crisis support service and evolved to provide a range of additional services to the community - including face-to-face counselling, emergency relief for food and utility expenses, suicide support programs, support line, and community aid for the frail and aged.

    Volunteers

The one thing every volunteer & staff member shares is a common goal of helping people in need.

Beyond helping others in need, there is a spirit of mutual support and self-improvement within the team - a desire to help each other.

Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury has over 350 staff & volunteers coming from a wide variety of backgrounds. The team combines fresh faces and a wealth of experience - some people bring a lifetime of experience to Lifeline to volunteer where their experience can help most, some have been with Lifeline for more than 20 years, many want to help others while learning and experiencing something new and different. All but 16 team members are unpaid, and every member of staff also volunteers in some capacity.

Lifeline is dedicated to providing a valuable community resource. The team of staff and volunteers is highly professional - with the experience and training required to perform to Lifeline's high standards.

This centre commenced operating as a telephone crisis support service in October 1968, as Lifeline Hornsby Ku-ring-gai and Community Aid Inc (HKLL). In March 2005 we changed our name to Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Inc, a name which better represents the area we service.
